The World Has Never Once Been Overpopulated In Recorded Human History, Up Until The 20th Century
There is a major push out there by these Narcissistic Natalists who are in utter denial about the world being overpopulated.
This Overpopulation Event, occurred with the Baby Boomer, and the False Economic Boom that took place after World War II.
Never in Human History did Humankind ever even come close to going "off the meter" in terms of hitting the Overpopulation Mark. This began to take place rought between 1927 - 1950.
While yes, technically with certain technologies and adaptations, the Earth is capable to support populations above the 3 Billion Mark, but that doesn't mean it's something you "should do" just because you can. This is something Humans seem to lack in understanding, since they lack wisdom.
There are some things in this life that you can "exceed" its designated capacity, but to do so, one must be very mindful of the design and extremely careful.
For example, even while a lamp may have a Wattage Rating Capacity, it doesn't mean that it is the absolute limit, but the only tested safe or recommended wattage capacity for light bulb in it to be used.
But there are still consequences, and it could also mean that the lamp shade turns "yellow" from the heat.
The same thing applies when trying to have the Earth adapt to a population level it's not designed to handle at native levels without technological advancements in infrastructure.
There is another prevaling condition that would have to exist, which also goes ignored, in order to have a stable and sustainable population to the levels we have now or above it.
There would need to be an agreement by Humans worldwide to agree to cooperate on a level of resource utilization for the sustainability. It is impossible to believe every group or Nation of peoples would be willing to go along with that, and it would require one Nation above all to be the arbiter and equalizer of that policy.
Human Nature, does not necessarily "flow well" with all that.
After 3-4 Billion Humans, Quality of Life will inevitibly begin to degrade rapidly for the Human Population.
Particularly considering the Industrial Appetite for luxury goods, along with ample food and infrastructure, the planet can only reasonably sustain a comfortable level of 1.5-3 Billion People.
Coping Artists will love to talk about all the empty "swaths of land" but ignore why this land is not inhabited or put to use, as there are reasons for it.
They also love to cite the notion of how the entire world population could all fit in Texas with their own house and land, but entirely ignore the quality of life and infrastructure challenges that would present.
It is more theoretical than anything. Possible, yes, but not practical or sustainable.
Also, not every country is capable to have sustainable populations as well as other countries or certain continents.
For example, countries like America, Russia and all of Africa, have long been blessed with Natural Resources. These Continents are capable of sustaining vast populations, assuming that they do not put their resources to waste and contaminate the land.
However, the quality or abilities of the population also make conditions vary. Russia's main disadvantage besides the Slavic Nature of their people, is the fact that the climate is far too cold to take full advantage of their land, and their historical role has always reflected this in their forms of Imperalism and Expansionism.
Europe, by contrast, is an extremely poor and unsustainable continent, it always has been this way, and a large part of that is reflected in the constant conflicts that have erupted on the continent.
Europe, left to its own, would in no way be able to expand to the population it has now, without borrowing resources from the rest of the world.
America, can legitimately sustain a population of at least 500 Million inhabitants, comfortably and self-sustaining, if it had this goal in mind.
What these Natalists continue to ignore is the on-going levels of depletion of all kinds of resources, including food like fish and how many other species are being threatened in their existence because of Human activity, including over-building, over-consumption and ridiculous over-development of Agriculture which disrupts the natural habitants for many life-forms.
The other thing of note is that people in the Modern World, have children more as a "routine" or because it's just "something you are supposed to do" or even doing it as a status symbol, whereas that is not what people did in the past.
You would think that, if Humanity were to come to a climax of overpopulation, that an event like this would span many centuries, even maybe at least 1000 Years for it to occur, but nope, it even occurred in less than a century!
LESS THAN A CENTURY!
Before 1927, the world knew nothing about overpopulation. And yet it was still dealing with its own challenges of growing populations such as managing issues with working conditions, infrastructure and trash disposal / pollution.
The part of the overpopulation problem that nobody is addressing is the fact that the Baby Boomers had assumed a "unique" position and precedent in the course of all other generations that came before and after them. And that they are living far longer than they should be, all things considered, and the fact that they had disrupted the natural cycles of one generation replacing another.
So you have a glut of human beings, which also should have never been born, and this is even AFTER such things like Abortions have been taking place for a long time now.
There are consequences for over-breeding, and the fact that people just bred for the fun of it to have people to serve them, and had these children with people they didn't even like or have any kind of attraction too.
Right now, the world is reaping those consequences.
That being said, I cannoty stress enough how only the worst people imagineable on this planet, have largely been the ones reproducing en masse since 1945, especially.
And this is even more true almost without exception since 1971, as the Nature of Economy and Policies rapidly changed across the world, that had numerous implications for anyone born after this this year.
Would you and your family be willing to give up all the convenience packaged foods we've come to know in the modern world, including plastic cutlery and paper plates?
This would also mean needing to have a vast recycling program of glass, whereby glass containers would have to constantly be used and returned to be repurposed again for even things like juices, soda, yogurt, and just about every consumable item.
You should know that at one point, almost all juice, soda, even milk and most condiments, only ever were sold in glass jars or containers. It was only in recent decades that this began to change, as population levels put more stress on the system in terms of convenience, efficiency and because depletion of resources.
Also, it is HIGHLY unnatural that you have to join the "stampede" to even find a subway or train seat in big cities, or that you have to have a restaurant reservation in modern times, or to wait in a queue to be served at a restaurant.
But, Modern Economies and even the Restaurant Industry relies on constantly having every single seat constantly occupied and turning over, and ignore that this is not a healthy, natural or sustainable practice, and that it's living above the natural means.
In addition, IT IS NOT EVEN HEALTHY OR NORMAL, NOR PRACTICAL for Chefs in restaurants and Waitstaff to have to deal with that much volume on a regular basis, and for that to be required to be able to make a living. Problems will ensue.
Most Waitstaff and Bartenders grow "deaf" very early on in life because of all the noise between kitchen activity and communication of diners in those industries. Most chefs will also develop varicose veins, arthritis and carpal tunnel as a result of the stress and repetitive motions in the duration of their careers. The body warning them that they have "overdone" themselves.
In addition, the faster the employees have to work, the more stress, more risk for error and accidents are likely to happen.
Natalists will always overlook these things. They sit there and act like the world is not overpopulated. Have they ever seen what life is like in China or India? Both of those countries have insane levels of people per square kilometer, and the way they have to fight to get on the train or to have anything, is out of control.
That is not how life is supposed to be. Just because you see it as normal around you in every day life, does not mean this type of life existence is normal. Along with the constant traffic on the road that you have to fight every day, especially during rush hour.
You would have to give up many things today that you enjoy or routinely use, or would have to use them in a different way and more responsibly, if a population over 3 Billion is to exist, and that also would also mean that all these Inhabitants have to be mostly decent, competent, intelligence, and highly empathic individuals.
Life would have to also function on a much slower level, with far less convenience than what modern humans have become accustomed too.
Because Humans have chosen "convenience" over that, the pollution created by these plastics and other neuro-toxins that are byproducts of the manufacturing process, is that you are dealing with disrupted hormone levels and endocrine issues and all kinds of health problems from these unnatural substances.
And in terms of buying chicken, milk and eggs and maybe some fresh summer cherries, you would probably be buying these from one of your local neighbors, if not actually growing and producing it yourself on your own land.
You'd be buying from neighbors of people you actually love and enjoy, who are like family to you, who you know, and they know you, rather than being strangers or people you have contempt with and cannot stand, as is the case in unnatural Modern Societies.
If you had children in a sustainable world, you would have to use reusable diaper cloths that would be washed and rewashed, as has been how humans lived for centuries.
I assure you that between even the elimination of disposable diapers, and the washing machines, this alone would probably eliminate almsot all morale for having children obsessively as people have done during an era of ridiculous convenience.
This whole lifestyle of constantly disposing cars, cell phones, computers and other items only to buy next year's version, is not a sustainable practice and cannot coincide with a large population.
Also, the model of "economy" when it comes to Yearly Releases of things like New Cars, TV's or Fashion Lines for Clothing and other Revamp of Products, is something that would need to almost be eliminated or highly reduced, in such an economy. Instead, products would need to be engineered and designed and produced on an "as-needed" basis, and based on what a customer wants.
A Human should only need to ever buy a car maybe once or twice in their entire life, unless they get their cars totaled for some reason.
CRT TVs and Monitors should have never been developed, if the goal was to eventually have everyone on LCD screens. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages, and many hazardous chemicals and are problematic for disposal.
All of these things take into account, the issues with the Modern world and Overpopulation, and how Humans have failed to meet the mark, of their own prerequisites for existence, on an Entropic Planet with Finite Land and Resources.
