Another Reason Why There Will Not Be A "Deflation"
The thing is that most people only have a linear or pattern understanding about how Economies or "Money" works, including this paper they use called "currency".
When most people think of an Economy or Money, they think of Supply and Demand, and so they believe thus that everything is also inevitably "cyclical" and will always repeat patterns of the past.
It may seem "counterintuitive" that prices will continue to rise even while affordability continues to plummet and people won't spend.
But what people do not understand is the consequence of a hyper-inflationary environment.
We're way past the point of whether the consideration of affordability can be managed by the population, at least from the standpoint of the "Seller" or "Retailer", because the problems come from the very source of the production lines, and back to the whole "agreement" behind what a Dollar or Euro or other Currency is worth.
When the value is eroded, particularly through actual Monetary Inflation, NOT Asset Inflation, there cannot be an environment where prices come down even if people are not buying.
Sure, a few handful of categories the price might come down in things, but they will not be in anything all that special or remarkable, especially in the category of "needs".
Last year, I was almost going to buy a new 4K Digital Video Camera and upgrade some Solid State Storage, and I regret that I didn't, because I've noticed not only have the prices for even such "Electronic Goods" as these have gone up, but a lot of places are carrying little to no stock.
I'd even be willing to buy a new 4K Digital Video Camera at a higher price, if I could find the right ones I want brand new, but that's not happening.
Last year, these cameras were going for around $300 for a simple Point-and-shoot, and now those same ones are priced at $600 or so and the specific ones I had my eyes on, are not even in-stock and might be discontinued.
Even the 8K TV's have hardly come down in price, some of them even went up much higher in price. I purchased one 3 years ago at a special price, and I'm very glad I did, because the quality even with just up-scaling with most 4K or 1080p content, is really that remarkably sharper, and they are extremely suitable for using them as large screen PC monitors!
All of these occurrences will also one day also happen to food and fuel, and other items as well, because you will soon realize that the retailers will just decide it's better off not to sell anything and just keep it to themselves or use for themselves, rather than sell it at a loss, even in a hyperinflationary environment.
